Please be advised 9 months after listening to Jagged Edge’s Baby Making Project, you will be expecting a child of your own. This is one male band that has continued to bring their fans consistency with their ballets and slow jams.
Baby Making Project lives up to its name as I was sure ready to “Put a Little Umph in It” while listening to the album. “I Be Damned” made me want to drive to my mans house in the rain, knock on his door with just a coat on and nothing underneath…and well you know the rest. There are a few songs on the album that do throw off your “Baby Making Project” experience. The third track “Whole Town Laughing” talks about the embarrassment of a cheating man, which they could have traded for another “Turn You On” song. The intro of the album though captures you with snippets of Jagged Edge’s greatest hits from previous years, which reminds you of all the great nights you’ve had listening to JE.
Jagged Edge started their career side by side with other popular male bands such as 112, Jodeci, and Dru Hill. Their peers seem to have fallen way off the map with unsuccessful comebacks. Yet JE is holding on strong and staying true to their fans with love songs that make you want to turn to your mate and say “Let’s Get Married”.
I would definitely recommend you buy and not burn “Baby Making Project”. Being the romantic I am, I give the album a 5 out of 5.
